In a house in Canford Heath, Poole, Dorset there is a large photograph of an Abruzzo scene hanging proudly on the wall. I know this because A, a Scot who lives about as far south as you can in the UK, went to the trouble of looking through my collection of Abruzzo photos and asked [...] Looking through my photos from Abruzzo yesterday I noticed that I go through phases. Phases where all I want to do is take photos of a particular subject. I don’t completely exclude other opportunities but a particular theme seems to dominate. The strangest of these subjects has got to be an interest in washing hanging [...] Penne Lake is not in my ears and in my eyes. At Penne Lake there was no barber showing photographs. And on January 1st it certainly wasn’t beneath the blue suburban skies! Nobody calls it Penne Lake. It’s Lago di Penne.
