Allow me to disagree! I think a scientific and mathematical can be a benefit to language learners - there are lots of formulae buried in languages - and much of it is logical - though not all! It takes time - but you have to speak, make mistakes, and, slowly, learn. Piles of patience and oodles of motivation do help though. Keep at it!
