What’s going on? Isn’t this supposed to be a site about Abruzzo. Why am I calling this post “Dark Matter”?
In Abruzzo, the Gran Sasso National Laboratory (Laboratori Nazionale del Gran Sasso) is trying to determine the nature of Dark Matter.
OK, but what is Dark Matter?
Well it turns out that scientists believe most of the matter in the universe is invisible. They call it “Dark Matter”. That’s all I know about it, if you want to know more you’ll have to look it up.
The laboratory runs tours in Italian, but sometimes they do them in English. If you are in the neighbourhood and you have a interest in this sort of thing, it could be worth a detour.
Their site indicates you have to book. Details on visiting are here.
